Inscription
During two separate terms as a member of the South Carolina State Highways and Public Transportation Commission Representing the 16th Highway District, 1975 ~ 1979 and 1983 ~ 1987, and as Chairman of the Commission 1978 ~ 1979, Mr. Fendley rendered extraordinary service to Union County and the state of South Carolina in having this highway constructed from Union to Spartanburg by action of the Highway Commission June 20, 1985.
