En testimonio de agradecimiento al Señor Presidente Don Carlos Herrera
Quien por acuerdo del 17 de septiembre de 1922 donó a la facultad de
Ciencias naturales y farmacia este predio con la expresa condición siguiente:
"3ª que la mencionada facultad queda en la obligación de no
vender su propiedad, de construir un edificio apropiado a la
institución y el jardín botánico."
