In the course of two hours, attacks on our nation took thousands of lives, this memorial honors the people of Maryland who were lost.

Together We Remember | September 11, 2001

Steel from the New York World Trade Center and Limestone from the Pentagon remind us that we were all transformed that day. Polished black granite reflects the heroism of the passengers and crew of Flight 93. These artifacts bear witness

to the courage and the sacrifice of all who perished.

Each September 11th, the shadow of Baltimore's World Trade Center aligns with marks engraved in the stone denoting the timeline of that morning's events.

Let us remember the value of freedom and the resilience of the human spirit.

On September 11, 2011,
Governor Martin O'Malley
dedicated this memorial
to the Marylanders
who died, their families,
the survivors, the
responders, and those
who continue to serve.
