Come in.

The plants in this garden are some of the herbs used and sold by The Watervliet Shaker Community during the 1800's. The community grew large "Botanical/Physic" gardens and also gathered many wild herbs for use in their business of selling dried herbs and making extracts.
The plants here are those that we know The Shakers used for medicine, for dyeing and for use in seasoning.
Many of the plants can be harmful to eat, so please enjoy by looking and smelling only.
