The Erie Railroad provided service to Long Eddy from the late 1800's to 1962. Freight such as milk and bluestone were picked up at sidings along the way and brought to market in New York City. Passenger service ranged from one to four trains daily. Passengers could board the train to New York City at the Erie Depot in Long Eddy (pictured here). The site of the depot can be seen at the foot of Depot Street where it meets Railroad Street.
