The San Luis Potosí CathedralBaroque style. 18th century. Nicolás Sánchez Pacheco. The first parish here was dedicated to Mrs. de la Expectación in 1609. Between 1701 and 1728 that church was demolished and this cathedral built, with a Baroque-Solomonic style façade shaped like a folding screen. The apostles on the facade are similar to those of San Juan de Letran (San Giovanni in Laterano), in Rome. The south tower is made of mortar and the north of quarried stone. December 2001
