 Don Ignacio Filiberto Sabido PadillaNació el 22 de Agosto de 1936, en el faro de Isla Contoy, siendo el uno de los contados mexicanos nacido en esta isla (hoy área natural protegida) y fue registrado oficialmente en las oficinas del registro civil en Isla Mujeres, Q. Roo, el día 23 de Octubre del mismo año. Sus padres fueron los CC. Arcadio Sabido Zetina (+) y Dolores Padilla (+).En sus primeros años, realizó sus estudios de nivel primaria en la escuela "Benito Juarez" en la Isla de Cozumel Q. Roo, posteriormente pasó su niñez navegando con sus hermanos y sus padres, transcurriendo esta estapa de su vida con residencia en diferentes faros de nuestro estado: en Punta Molas, Punta Celarain, Punta Herrero, Cabo Catoche y otros, ya que su padre era farero al que constántemente le cambiaban su adscripción.A finales de 1947 trasladaron a su padre al faro de Tulum, por lo que su madre y sus hermanos, con excepción de Filiberto se quedaron en Cozumel, siendo él su único acompañante en esa encomienda. En 1954, a la edad de 18 años, abandonó el seno familiar para embarcarse en la motonave "General



Obregón", entonces propiedad del Gobierno del Territorio de Quintana Roo, en la que se transportaban a Chetumal productos comestibles básicos como: azúcar, arroz, frijol y manteca provenientes del puerto de Veracruz. Tiempo después se embarcó en el "Buenavista" propiedad de Don José Padrón Zetina, en el cual se transportaba diesel del puerto de Campeche, mercancías de puerto Progreso, así como Gas-avión de la Texaco, el cual era transportado desde puero Barrios, Guatemala. Posteriormente se embarcó en el "Pepito" un pequeño remolcador propiedad de la casa Aguilar, muy famosa en aquel entonces, en ese barco se remolcaban trozos de madera procesada a lo largo del Rio Hondo. El primero de Enero de 1957 ingresó a la Secretaría de Marina Mercante como guarda faro, nombre que se le daba antiguamente a esa actividad, plaza laboral que se le concedió al fallecer su padre.El 11 de Octubre de 1961 contrajo nupcias con la Srita. Yolanda Isabel González Muñoz (+), con la cual procreó 6 hijos: Filiberto (+), Wilhema (+), René, Joel, Arleny y
Edgar.También tuvo a su cargo el Mareografo, el cual estaba ubicado en el muelle de la Terminal Marítima de Chetumal, mismo que servía para medir o registrar oscilaciones del nivel del mar.Paralelamente con su actividad de guardafaros en Chetumal, de 1987 a 1991 se desempeñó como secretario



sindical de la Capitanía de Puerto, dependiente de la S.C.T. también se desempeñó como jefe de servicios navales de la Marina Mercante, adscrito a la Capitanía de Puerto de Chetumal, fungiendo al mismo tiempo como encargado del faro en Chetumal, labor que desempeñó por 42 años de 1957 hasta 1999, cuando se jubiló del cargo.Pie de fotos:Documento inédito Fechado el 27 de Agosto de 1936, mediante el cual se hizo del conocimiento de las autoridades civiles el nacimiento del C. His parents were the CC. Mr. Arcadio Zetina (+) and Dolores Padilla (+).During his early years, he studied in the primary school, "Benito Juarez" on the

Roo, later spent his childhood sailing with his brothers and parents, passing this stage of his life residing in different lighthouses in our state: in Punta Molas, Punta Celarain, Punta Herrero, Cabo Catoche and others, as his father was the lighthouse keeper who constantly change his affiliation. In late 1947, his father was moved to the lighthouse of Tulum, so his mother and brothers, except Filiberto stayed in Cozumel, being him the only companion of his mother. In 1954, at the age of 18, he left his family to embark the ship "General Obregon," property of the Government of the Territory of Quintana Roo, which basic food stuffs such sugar, rice, beans and butter from the port of Veracruz were transported to Chetumal. Afterwards he embarked on the "Buenavista", property of Don José Padrón Zetina, on which diesel was transported from the port of Campeche, goods from the port of Progreso and jet fuel from Texaco, which was transported from puerto Barrios, Guatemala. Later this product was transported on board the "Pepito", a small tugboat owned by Casa Aguilar, very famous at that time, also on that ship whole Wood pieces of mohogany along the Rio Hondo were towed. He also was responsible for the tide gauge, which was located in the dock of Chetumal Terminal Maritime, the same that was used to measure or record oscillations of sea level. parallel with his activity in Chetumal as lighthouse keeper, from 1987 to 1991 he served as chief of the union of the Harbor Master, depending of the SCT, also served as chief of naval services of the Merchant Marine, assigned to the Port of Chetumal, serving simultaneously as lighthouse keeper in Chetumal, work he did for 42 years from 1957-1999, when he retired from office.
