This monument is dedicated in loving memory of
Captain Brian C. Hickey
Rescue Company 4
Fire Department, City of New York

Captain Hickey along with 342 other firefighters made the supreme sacrifice defending the City of New York on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center terrorist attacks. Captain Hickey was a lifelong resident of Bethpage, an active member of the Bethpage Fire Department, former Fire Commissioner of the Bethpage Fire District, and Deputy Fire Chief Instructor at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy. Captain Hickey was posthumously promoted to Battalion Chief.

These attacks claimed 2792 innocent lives. We shall never forget Brian and his 342 brothers in battle, who unselfishly gave their lives in performance of their duty
