Dedicated April 5th, 2014 W3R-US Historic Trail
(Center Plaque) "The memorial is dedicated to the memory of French General Comte de Rochambeau and the French Army who camped on the Cooch Farm in 1781. The combined French and American Armies were traveling to Yorktown, Virginia, for their final battle of the American War of Independence. Following their victory at Yorktown, the same French Army camped here on their return to France. The Cooch Farm now proudly sits along the 680 mile W3R-US National Historic Trail. Americans are forever thankful to the French People for their critical support to our young nation and out fight for freedom."HM Number | HM2LHV |
