The Brewers' longest tenured pitcher, Slaton played 12 of his Major League seasons in Milwaukee. Named an A.L. All-Star in 1977, a season in which he compiled double-digit wins and 200-plus innings for the fifth consecutive year. Enjoyed best campaign in 1976, with a 3.44 ERA, 14 wins, 12 complete games and a career-high 292.2 innings pitched. Placed among the A.L. top ten in winning percentage in 1982 and 1983. Was a significant contributor during the 1982 postseason, earning the save in game four of the ALCS and the win in game four of the World Series.
