MARCO: Outside the linesMARCO's architectural value ventures outside the lines by presenting an approach that might seem at odds with current museography trends. Works are displayed with an appropriate, balanced blend of natural and artificial light. MARCO is a 172,000 square feet building, of which 53,800 square feet are devoted to exhibition space in eleven galleries. La Paloma: Conceived by Juan SorianoAt the main entrance is La Paloma (The Dove), an oversized, 19.6-foot tall, 8,800 pound, bronze sculpture created by the great Mexican artist Juan Soriano. La Paloma "extends" a greeting to visitors. ExhibitionsMARCO's galleries are graced by major temporary exhibitions, both individual and collective, that present to the public some of the most significant examples of Latin American and international contemporary art showcasing a variety of techniques such as painting, sculpture, photography, graphic arts, architecture, installation and electronic art.
