On Nov. 28, 1864, Jackson's division, 20th Corps(Williams), of Gen. Sherman's army [USA],destroyed the railroad from Davisboro, No. 12, CRR, to Spier's Turnout (Bartow), No. 11, CRR,while Geary's division and the First MichiganEngineers were destroying the railwayfacilities at Davisboro and five miles of track west of that point. That night, Hq 20th Corpswas established in Bartow.

Next day, the two infantry divisions andMichigan Engineers destroyed the track andall railway facilities from this point to theOgeechee River, then turned north towardLouisville to rejoin the Left Wing.
