State line located approximately 100yards south of this point. In 1668 surveyors marked large Oak treesto indicate the boundry. Thesecame to be called "Marriage Trees" as couples traveled fromVirginia to wed under more lenientMaryland laws. Boundry stoneswere set after 1883 survey.
