Inscription
Built 1836 by John Irwin, Nephew of Colonel John Irwin, this brick structure served as an inn for stagecoach passengers on the Greensburg to Pittsburgh Pike at Tinker Run. In 1851 John Irwin laid out the original plan of lots for the town of Irwin between the house and the Pennsylvania Railroad.
