House of History
The Adams County House of History served as county Jail House and Sheriff's Quarters from 1877 to 1955. The stones that were used to build the jail house were hauled from St. Joseph, Missouri, by oxen and wagon. The effort to purchase and renovate the House of History was spear-headed by Harry and Lois Sickler in 1969. It now contains many displays of antiques and artifacts that trace the colorful history of Corning and Adams County.HM Number | HM1MHY |
