This area has been a place of worship and burial from Celtic times to the present day. The great diversity of history and culture of Cobh is reflected on the many headstones and epitaphs of those interred here among them, Jack Doyle, Dr. James Roche Verling, Charles Wolfe and 194 victims of the Lusitania in 3 mass graves and 24 individual plots.
