Rear Admiral Hugh Dennis Wisely (USN, ret)

Admiral Wisely entered the Naval Aviation Cadet Program in 1961. He flew 350 combat missions with VF-114 over Vietnam from the deck of the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. In 1967 during his second of three deployments, he was the first in the war to shoot down two enemy aircraft. He has tested the F-4 Phantom, F-14 Tomcat and the Sidewinder and Sparrow missile systems - and even the Soviet MiG-21. He later served in a number of command positions culminating with his assignment as Captain of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy. He has also served as Commander and Flight Leader of the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron (1980-1981). He retired from the U.S. Navy in October 1994 as a rear Admiral after serving as Director Warfare Systems Engineering and Architecture at Navy Space and Electronic Warfare Systems Command and Director
