On September 11, 2001 terrorists attacked our nation by crashing planes into the Pentagon, a field in Pennsylvania, and the World Trade Center. These four pieces of steel came from the remains of the World Trade Center and are arranged to represent how they might have fallen. 22 residents of the greater Prince William area were killed in the attacks that day. Their names are inscribed on the west wall of the 9/11 Liberty Memorial Reflecting Pool located directly ahead on the hill in Freedom Park.
We remember all of those who lost their lives that fateful day, and we honor their memory.
