September 20, 1863.
Captain John W. Mebane, Commanding.
1st Lieutenant J.W. Phillips.
2d Lieutenant J.C. Grant.
2d Lieutenant L.E. Wright.


The Battery was not engaged on the 19th, but followed its Brigade closely, ready at all times to come into action if an opportunity offered.
In the assault of the 20th, the Battery came into position on this ground on the left of the Division, under a bitter fire of all arms at short range from the enemy's concealed works, and continued to fire till supporting infantry was forced to retire. Casualties: 1 man wounded; 2 horses killed and 6 wounded.
