O

Soon after 11 o'clock, while the brigade was moving by the left flank, the enemy burst upon it in such force as to drive it back. The battery was turned to the left crossing acorn field to this position. The Confederates came up in heavy lines to the right of its front and the battery opened upon them with shell and canister. Other batteries were engaged in the same line and holding their own until the Confederates opened a galling fire upon the right flank and rear, charging from the right and capturing the guns. Casualties of the battle: 6 guns and limbers; 2 caisons; 1 man killed; 9 wounded; 7 missing; 56 horses killed and disabled.
