Northern Pacific Company Office and Freight Depot - built 1909-1910

The Old North Yakima Historic District was created and placed on the National Register on May 2, 1986, by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior.
The Burlington Northern Freight Depot (Northern Pacific Company and Freight Depot) is a contributing member.
Built in the Mission Revival style, this structure is an excellent example of period revival design from the early twentieth century. This building was the hub of early railroad shipping and receiving. Much of the commercial products that supplied early Yakima City were brought here by the Northern Pacific Railroad and were distributed from this site.
This plaque was provided by the North Front Street Improvement Association and its members, 2009.
