Landmarks of New York

Frank W. Woolworth, 1852-191, original president of F.W. Woolworth Co., built this "Cathedral of Commerce" of Gothic design in 1913. Cass Gilbert was architect. Its sixty stories rise 790 feet and one inch above the street and until 1931 it was the highest office building in the world.
