Urban Development Corporation (UDC) for the St. James Parish Council, from the ruins of the old burnt-out courthouse built in 1804The UDC carried out this project over the period January 1999 to September 2001
The building was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Jamaica The Right Honourable P. J. Patterson, Q.C., M.P. on October 6, 2001The Contractors were Improsur/Clasford Woolery & Partners (joint venture) and the Consultants - Harold Simpson, Michael Carter (joint venture) Davidson & Hanna, Westech Engineers and Ashley & AssociatesThe project was financed under the San Jose Accord by the Governments of Venezuela and Jamaica
