The largest natural lake in ColoradoFormed by glaciation 30,000 years agoLong known as the headwaters of the Colorado River.It is included in the Colorado-Big Thompson Project.Water from here flows through the "Adams Tunnel" to Estes Park.The lake has an estimated depth of 265 feet.It was called "Spirit Lake" by the Native Americanswho camped by its shore.
