At the "At the Golden Star" Inn, which stood here until 1959, the innkeepper and esteemed citizen of our city, Georg Josua Schwanhäuser, 1796-1876, invented the famous Schweinfurt "Slaughter Pot" in 1840.

He was also a founding member of the Harmonie Association in 1827.
