In twenty four years service in the National League of Baseball as player and manager, he won his way to the greatest heights, winning a pennant for Philadelphia in 1916 and a league pennant for Cincinnati in 1919. As a player, as a manager, as a man he played the game according to the rules. This memorial is the enduring tribute of thousands to a departed friend
