The College Inn, a popular restaurant with School of Dentistry students, faculty, and staff was opened on this site in 1931 by School of Medicine faculty member Louis Mazzini. It was so popular with students that one class paid for a sidewalk between the dental school and the inn, while another class paid to connect the school's paging system to the building. In 1969 the School of Dentistry named Bea Gordon, the manager of the inn, an honorary alumna. Following Mazzini's death in 1973 his widow donated the property to the Indiana University Foundation, and the university razed the building in 1975.
