the memories of motorcycle racing
on this beach and South Atlantic Aavenue
nine miles south of this point

Start of the 1959 Daytona 200
over 100 riders competed on
the 4.2 mile course each year

These twelve men were the Daytona 200
winners from 1937 through 1960
when this race ran on the beach and South Atlantic Avenue
nine miles south of this spot

In 1961 the race was moved to
the Daytona International Speedway
