This statue features the Cardinals' greatest player in his follow-through after hitting one in the upper deck. It was unveiled in the 50th anniversary year of Stan's greatest season — 1948 — when he led the league in average, runs, hits, total bases, doubles, triples, RBI and slugging percentage. A three-time most valuable player, he had a lifetime batting average of .331 and 479 career home runs.
