The Society for the Museum of the City Payo Enríquez de Rivera Twenty-seventh Viceroy of New Spain, Archbishop of Mexico, Bishop of Guatemala and Michoacán and President of the Council of the Indies. He arrived at Chetumal Bay on June 30, 1681, giving his name to the small village at the mouth of the Rio Hondo, known then as Payo Obispo and today as Chetumal. City of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, June 30, 1993.
