—Ormond/Daytona Beach —

With land speed record runs on these sands ended, a new type of speed event began here
when stock cars raced on 3.2 mile beach-road course. 27 starters ran south on paved
road A1A and north of the beach, struggling through a turn at each end, as north turn
was completely cluttered with disabled stock cars stuck in soft sand.
