This structure, one of the oldest surviving buildings in Riverdale County, was constructed in 1866 and served as a general store along the Southern Emigrant Trail and also as Temecula's post office from 1870 to 1882. Louis Wolf, the proprietor and the local justice of the peace, sometimes held court in this adobe. It was a stage stop for local routes through the 1880s.
