1923-1947

English:
In 1926, after several unsuccessful attempts at reviving the company, it was finally sold along with all of its remaining assets to the Atlantic Gypsum Company from Boston. Mr. Joseph MacFarland was hired to start up the mining operations. He established his home for his family in Chéticamp and immediately

went to work.
1928 The Great Years
In 1927, the manufacture of plaster ceased in Chéticamp and the gypsum was shipped in bulk to factories in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and New York. In 1928, a large complex was constructed on this site. It included an immense storage facility across the road on La Butte a Severin, a building to house the crusher and another for the huge generator needed to power the entire complex.
