The Brewers' longest tenured pitcher, Slaton played 12 of his Major League seasons in Milwaukee. Named an A.L. All-Star in 1977, a season in which he compiled double-digit wins and 200-plus innings for the fifth consecutive year. Enjoyed best campaign in 1976, with a 3.44 ERA, 14 wins, 12 complete games and a career-high 292.2 innings pitched. Placed among the A.L. top ten in winning percentage in 1982 and 1983. Was a significant contributor during the 1982 postseason, earning the save in game four of the ALCS and the win in game four of the World Series. Entered Wall of Honor as the franchise's all-time leader in wins (118), innings pitched (2,038), games started (268) and shutouts (19).
