Acquired from the Boston Red Sox during the 1971 offseason, Scott played five seasons with the Brewers before returning to Boston. Scott made the most of his brief time in Milwaukee, with a five-year performance that placed him among the best players in the American League. In addition to winning a Gold Glove in each of his five seasons, "Boomer" led the A.L. from 1972 to 1976 in games (782), plate appearances (3,320) and total bases (1,371), while ranking second in hits (851) and third in both home runs (115) and RBI (463). Scott's best season came in 1975 when he earned All-Star recognition and finished eighth in MVP voting while leading the A.L. in home runs (36), RBO (109) and total bases (318).HM Number | HM2LWI |
