Looking north, you can see the remnants of the canal. It crosses over Floydville Road and proceeds over Salmon Brook via an aqueduct and then continues to Northampton, Massachusetts. To your left is Lake Basile. Cross over the bridge and to the left up hill you will see more remnants of the canal. Total distance from New Haven to Northampton, Mass. is 88 miles.
