Bob Uecker

— Voice of the Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball Player and World-Class Entertainer —

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Bob Uecker became a national celebrity through his work in sports and entertainment.

Uecker will forever be known as the "Voice of the Brewers" with over four decades as lead play-by-play broadcaster for the team. Nationally, he also called action for ABC's Monday Night Baseball, NBC's Game of the Week, League Championship Series and World Series.

Uecker was named the recipient of the 2003 Ford C. Frick Award, ensuring him a permanent place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

As an actor and comedian, Uecker's credits in Hollywood as a celebrity entertainer are just as numerous. They include one of the lead roles in the long-running television sitcom Mr. Belvedere, countless guest appearances on The Tonight Show, and a hosting role on Saturday Night Live.

Uecker also acted in two of the best baseball movies ever - Major League and Major League II - filling the hilarious role of team broadcaster Harry Doyle in both films.

Uecker was also a key participant in one of the most popular ad campaigns of all time, serving as a "Miller Lite All-Star" in popular commercials for Lite Beer from Miller.

A former catcher who spent six seasons in the Major Leagues (including a World Championship in 1964), Uecker authored

a book entitled Catcher in the Wry, a humorous look back on the years he spent with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies.
