Then & Now
— Capitol Riverfront —Opened in July 2018, Audi Field is the home for the D.C. United professional soccer team. Located in Buzzard Point of Capitol Riverfront, Audi Field was a public-private partnership between the District Government and the ownership of D.C. United to build the $350 million, 20,000 seat stadium. Prior to the soccer stadium, the site was home to surface parking lots, Pepco electrical generation equipment, and a number of small scale industrial buildings. Audi Field is already served as a catalyst for new housing and mixed-use development in Buzzard Point.
