Then & Now

— Capitol Riverfront —

Voted by DC residents as Best Apartment Building in Washington City Paper's 2018 "Best of DC" poll, Dock 79 sits on once-neglected riverfront land that was used by land owner Florida Rock Properties for concrete mixing and gravel storage. Florida Rock Properties saw potential in transforming the old concrete plant directly south of Nationals Park into a mixed-use community, and joined forces with developer MRP Realty to make the vision a reality. Today Dock 79 features 305 apartment units, destination restaurants, a vibrant public plaza, and a riverfront promenade as the first phase of a four-phase, 1.1 million square feet development at ultimate buildout.
