English translation:Sanctuary of the Virgen de GuadalupeMany different people, during different years in which the construction of this church took place participated. Friar Rafael Villafuerte developed the project in 1887, but started in 1903. The site management was conducted by Friar Fulgencio Villagómez Ruíz, while

the construction was led by an Italian architect. Its style has a tendency to the Neoclassical. The construction time of the church was stopped due to the conflicts generated by the Mexican Revolution. Works resumed after 1929, and in charge of them was Friar Miguel F. Zavala, who finished the church in 1945. The consecration of the church belonged to Gerardo Anaya Bonilla and Diez, Bishop of San Luis Potosí. The floor plan is that of a Latin cross; its facade made out of quarry stone, has a particular aspect, because it highlights its bell tower placed in the middle which is supported by pillars that form an arch, which form four columns. From
the front bow comes a triangular pediment, which is the main entrance to the church. The bell tower has three sections, on the first one the choir is situated, the bells in the second and on the third one, a clock is embedded, the upper part has as its pinnacle a dome. This church is of great importance to Yuriria because around it many fairs and traditions of the village are held, as the annual pilgrimage to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe, held each December 12th, or the novenary to the Virgin which begins on December 3rd and ends on March 12th. On the first day of the novenary, Morelos Street is decorated with strings held on the roofs of the houses and lights. In the afternoon, a great pilgrimage

starts to go on a procession that stops about 10 at night. The faithful people during their walk go sampling the various dishes that are sold along the way. Finally, the festival ends with fireworks like the burning of castle figure and the music of local and foreign bands.
