Milwaukee Braves, 1953-1962

Slugging first baseman who played 10 of his 17 Major League seasons in Milwaukee. Recorded the first base hit and scored the first run in County Stadium history. Slammed four home runs and a double in Brooklyn's Ebbets Field on July 31, 1954. His 18 total bases set a single-game record that lasted 48 years. Broke up Harvey Haddix's 12-inning no-hitter with winning hit in County Stadium on May 26, 1959. Ranks third in Milwaukee Braves history in several categories, including hits, home runs, RBI, and total bases. Retired with third-highest fielding percentage all-time among first basemen.
