The Founding of Miscouche
the parish of Miscouche. These settlers included Arsenaults, Gaudets, Poiriers, DesRoches, Lebruns, Gallants and Pineaus. This new community was called Belle-Alliance but eventually the older name Miscouche was preferred, a word derived from the Mi'kmaq expression Munuscooch meaning "little grassy island".HM Number | HM2MTX |
