Museum of the American Quilters Society opened April 25, 1991. Meredith and Bill Schroeder dedicated this facility to promote, preserve and perpetuate quilting. Paducah, Kentucky, home of the American Quilters Society, is visited by thousands of quilters annually. Mayor Gerry B. Montgomery has proclaimed this city Quilt City USA.
