Camp Milton Historic Preserve
The Manassas Mimosa stands in northern Virginia at Henry House Hill, scene of two important Civil War battles: the first and second battles of Manassas. The first battle of Manassas, also know as the battle of Bull Run, took place in July 1861. At the battle, the Union lost the first major conflict of the war. The second battle took place in August 1862 and was also a Confederate victory. Henry House Hill was scene to heavy fighting in both battles. This tree grew from a seed handpicked from the Manassas Mimosa.HM Number | HM2N2M |
