( Center Panel ):
We Dedicate this memorial to all veterans of United States Military Service.

The many who have served in the past, those serving today and those who will serve tomorrow.

They assist in preserving the Peace and Protecting us in time of conflict.

We owe them for our Freedom. A debt we can never repay.

(Henry County Area Veterans Memorial Committee)

( Left Large Panel ):
Above us now Old Glory waves
Reminding us of the living and those in graves

This hallowed place was built to remind us all
Of the debt we owe to those who stand tall

For every mother who shed a tear
Thinking of her Veteran dear

For every father whose chest filled with pride
As he watched them march away in stride

For the spouse and kids who were denied
Their loved ones closeness at their side

For those who served the peace so well
And others who fought their way through hell

Some served the past and came back to tell
How many of their friends had died and fell

Many serve now on foreign sand
Others stay back and protect our land

Certainly tomorrow some brigand band
Will challenge Lady Liberty to take a stand

They are our heroes one and all
Veterans who answer our Nation's call

May God grant them a peaceful rest
Those who are America's best

( Left Small Panel ):
Taps

Day is done, gone the sun
From the hills, from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep, peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor,
God keep.
On the land or the deep,
safe in sleep.

( Right Large Panel ):
"God and soldier we adore
In times of danger not before
Danger past and all things righted
God is forgotten the soldier slighted"
Rudyard Kipling

"The willingness with which our young peopleare likely to serve in any war, no matter howjustified, shall be directly proportional to howthey perceive the Veterans of earlier warswere treated and appreciated by their nation."
George Washington

"I regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
Nathan Hale

( Right Small Panel ):
The Pledge of Allegiance

I pledge allegiance to the flag of
the United States of America.

And to the republic for which it stands.

One nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
