James B. Arthur House
James B. Arthur got his start in Colorado by cutting and selling prairie grass hay. Later he turned to raising stock on the open range. In 1882 he moved into this stately Queen Anne house, reputedly one of the town's finest. Embellished with black walnut, Tennessee marble, and stained glass, the house was used for parties and church affairs. Arthur invested in local businesses and served as an officer in the Masons, the county, and the town, serving as Mayor -- 1893-1895.Directions Information | Just east of Mulberry St. and College Ave. located on the NW corner of Mulberry St. and Peterson St. |
