English:The Church of Guadalupe
Completed in the beginning of the 18th century, it is one of the best examples of Talavera and brick facades in the city. The entrance is framed by a big arch totally covered in Talavera tiles in blue and white, with intertwining geometric figures and stars. The panels on the sides of the entrance
show the apparitions of the Guadalupe, the four of them are medallions framed by floral motifs in blue, at the bottom of which are fragments of Pope Benedict XIV's phrase "Non fecit talliter omni nationi", "Did not do anything similar for another nation". The interior is simple, transformed into neoclassical style in the second half of the 19th century. Within the annexed chapel devoted to Our Lady of Sorrows, the plasterworks that form grotesques remain intact with protruding angels and other forms typical of the exuberant baroque.
