English translation:National Independence MuseumThis building was built at the end of the 18th century by the famous philanthropist Francisco Miguel González, in order to establish the first prison in the Congregation of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. On the historic early morning of Sunday, September 16, 1810, Miquel Hidalgo y Costilla and a group of courageous insurgents freed the prisoners who were here to start the struggle for our Independence.
