??Fires were a major concern of oil fields.This cannon stood at the Magnolia Petroleum tank farmin Corsicana. It was used to shoot a hole in the bottom ofthe cyprus tanks if lightning struck. The oil would draininto a pit around the tank to be pumped away.The cannon was donated by Mobil Oil Company in 1969
