Erected 1920

The Rushton Bakery was designed by architect Ernest Brostrom, on the site of the first bakery built in 1888. This was Brostrom's finest work, and was modeled on the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. The figures above the entry were the work of sculptor Jorgen C. Dryer.

[Cement marker on building]
First - 1888
A shelter, just a home.
Then - 1917
Brick and timbers,
burned to embers,
faithful hearts,
energy with industry
arising from calamity,
striving toward ideality,
this building here.
Erected, 1920
